How we can help
As one for others
A friend in need is a friend indeed. We like to use our expertise, our people, and our materials to do good. By combining our strengths with those of our customers and partners, we are helping society move forward.
BX Represent
Scoring goals on and off the pitch
Soccer players in Brussels are bursting with talent, even when they’re not kicking a ball around. Nearly 200 volunteers are supporting young soccer players in their performance in the game, as well as in their training and work. For this BX Represent and DHL eCommerce organize work experience days.
Kom op tegen kanker
Ride like the wind for a good cause
Pedalling against cancer. We at DHL have been doing this for eleven years. During Ascension weekend in 2023, 29 colleagues started the 1,000 kilometres for Kom Op Tegen Kanker. Together, they cycled 5,000 kilometres and collected €27,500. All of this money goes to scientific cancer research. On to the next edition!
FC Utrecht
From soccer field to food bank
When the Food Bank reported a shortage of long-life products, FC Utrecht stepped in. Via a drive-through at Galgenwaard stadium, people could donate groceries. The initiative collected more than 300 food packages! DHL transported the boxes to the food bank’s central storage point.
IT4Kids
Video calling with the teacher
Not every family has the means to provide home schooling. That’s why IT4Kids and DHL Cares are collecting laptops, tablets, and phones during the coronavirus crisis.
Linda.foundation
Festive surprises
Linda.foundation is treating families with financial difficulties to a gift package. The volunteers from Linda.foundation and DHL will wrap all gifts festively during the annual wrapping day. DHL will ensure that they arrive at their destinations.
Philomela Foundation
Aria's at home
During the coronavirus crisis, musicians from the Philomela Foundation put performances on for the elderly, so they could enjoy some of the most beautiful classical pieces from their window or balcony. DHL Cares was happy to chip in, and presented the foundation with a check for €1,000.
DHL CANNOT DO IT ALONE
Let's be sociable
We can’t change the world on our own. That’s why we are actively seeking other companies to collaborate with. Do you know of a potential social partner for DHL? Then get in touch! Who knows? Maybe your good cause could become ours too.
DHL and Rituals
Special delivery for care workers
For our heroes working the care sector, Rituals and DHL like to do something extra special. Rituals put together some pampering packages, while DHL delivered them free of charge to staff at the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam. But we didn’t forget care workers in Germany, who also received a package from Rituals.
Social partnerships
From the heart
The DHL network is spread across the world. This gives us unique chances to make a positive contribution to people and society. And we do this with love.
Miles and miles of reading
Together with Kinderzwerfboek we are making book reading accessible for every child in the Netherlands. Children can pick up a book for free at any Kinderzwerfboek BookCrossing station in the country. After reading it, they let it roam further. DHL supplies over 3,000 stations with books all year round. We also deliver summer fun packages from the parent foundation Nationaal Fonds Kinderhulp.
Generous boys, good deeds
DHL eCommerce is the official sponsor of Excelsior Rotterdam soccer club and through this support the wonderful initiatives of Excelsior4All, the social foundation of the club. Through the Playing for Success program, we teach children who struggle at school about logistics. And through the ‘Talentontwikkeling = Topsport’ talent development program, we give a kick-start to the careers of women in Rotterdam.
Blind spot lessons
Tips from truckers
Children have to deal with traffic from a young age, so it’s important that they know what they should be aware of. They also need to learn about cyclists, traffic lights, cars, and trucks. But don’t worry, our experienced drivers know all the answers. Both in the Netherlands and Belgium, we teach pupils aged ten to twelve about vehicle blind spots. We contribute trained drivers and a golden-yellow fleet of trucks to turn each exciting traffic safety teaching program into a great success.
Official logistics partner
Close collaboration with Willem II
As Willem II's official partner, DHL eCommerce delivers all the merchandise ordered on the soccer club’s online store to the club’s supporters or a DHL ServicePoint in the Netherlands. In addition to this logistical support, we are building the future together with the soccer club from Tilburg by working with the Willem II Betrokken foundation – the club’s way of connecting soccer to society. The foundation’s key words are respect, education, and health. This is one team we are happy to play with.
